URGENT MATTER / NO ON SB-131

Friends, we suffered a defeat on SB-131 yesterday. The bill has passed the Assembly Appropriations Committee. It now heads for a floor vote in the full Assembly as early as next Monday or Tuesday.

ARCHBISHOP JOSÉ H. GOMEZ is asking all pastors to please urge parishioners this weekend to contact their Assembly members and State Senators and urge them to vote No on SB-131. They should call or email even if they have done so previously. Our elected officials need to hear from Catholics right now. It is urgent that this legislation be defeated.
